Human Cargo is probably the best book I've read this last year.. its [probably] what got me in to the work i do. In fact, something about it reminds me a lot of Other Lands Have Dreams by Kathy Kelly, which I can't for the life of me stop plugging. Gotta love intelligent Christians. That woman is really amazing.

Acts of Rebellion isnt one of those books I'd read from cover to cover... its pretty dense. Ive had it for a long time and I still haven't finished it actually [i had a brief huff with Churchill about something] - i just kind of dip in when I'm between books.

And Peace, Propaganda... is great, its like two documentaries in one! But it is, as ever, prettttttty depressing. Oh! check out freesamialarian.com

Tom: are you reading what I told you to read or am I going to have to beat you about the face?

hello my sweet little husband ,and everyone else. want to talk about books? i've got alot of the books that you've mentioned and i've started reading some but i'm having a hard time and i'd really like discussing them, it helps to digest the information and it helps to formulate broader perspectives. in any case, i'm just fucking lonely and need something better to do with my time. so in an effort to remain a consistent, living, breathing, farting embarrasment, i will post my email address with hopes of discussion and learning and dink enlargement spam. in any case, this post'll be deleted i'm sure.

Thanks Ca2lin,
I'll definatly be checking out the graves are not yet full.
Did you ever get a chance to check out Todd's favourite 'Human Cargo'? http://www.g7welcomingcommittee.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=GWCR&Product_Code=BkCargo&Category_Code=L
Not only was that one an important read, but it really brought some of his tracks to life (cut into the earth, life at disconnect, even Fuck the Jord 'er).

I'm currently working on Churchill's Acts of Rebellion. I can't say it's an easy read, but it's sure putting the stuggle of indigenous people in North America into perspective. If we can stop these exploiting dick smellers from fucking with people and raping their land here, it might make it easier to stop them from exploiting countries abroad. I'm really looking forward to that documentary 'Peace, Propaganda and the Promised Land' on this here eh a Propastinky DVDoodle.

Hairhole,

Quite a lot of the books Todd recommends on Africa are very worth reading. I liked the Gouervitch one, but if you're interested in reading about a few other African countries as well, I really really recommend The Graves Are Not Yet Full. Its one of the few books I wish I'd kept as a reference.
I have a whole feckin notebook about that book. I actually prefer it to the Gouerivitch one, its very different but very worth reading. Actually, if memory serves me well, one of the last chapters is about Rwanda and the trial, its... i can't think of an appropriate word so I'll make one up: depresscinating.

Me Against My Brother is pretty interesting too, but there was something about the style I found hard to get through... In fact, if you're curious, you can have my copy.

I might get shot by every Canadian on here, but I actually didn't like Shake Hands With The Devil much. I didn't finish it. I'm reading that Leopold's Ghost one right now and not thinking much of it either...

I'm hard to please.

*salute*

Good Friday? More like Great Fartday.

In all seriousness though, if you haven't got a chance to read Todd's impassioned post on the Propagandhi site, you should: http://www.propagandhi.com/

I would also like to strongly encourage anyone interested in Rwanda, and good books in general, to check out what I believe to probably have been the most powerful read my eyes have ever endured in what is Philip Gourevitch's 'We Wish To Inform You That Tomorrow We Will Be Killed With Our Families' http://www.picadorusa.com/product/product.aspx?isbn=0312243359

It was when I read that book and then later found out it was in the recommended reading section of Prop's Empires album that I KNEW I had stumbled upon the world's greatest album, band, and book. Seriously.

Better late than never...

But those myth or logical blue shorts that Todd K. (¡our polish buddy!) wore during the canadian segment of the tour during like, oooh, i dunno ¿two weeks? have also been his official gardrobe in the U.K's UnderWorld venue for say, like, oooh, i can't quite recall but... ¿two weeks before?

That's economizing and the rest is pure Sum182 fandom.

Expanding to Nova Scotia, eh? If G7 would still be producing material items, my heart would have grown two sizes because I'd expect to receive those items much, much quicker.

I could just call and say, "Hey D-Rock, I'm coming down there to pick that shit up!" And D-Rock would respond with a simple, "Radical, dude."

...Yeah.

Obviously I am not going to write my real name while I explain theese basic concept rules that arguebly explain why Irland is nothing but and English province:

1- Too drunk to resist any english armed forces. That's what shit beer will do ya.
2- Incest (In name of the father, the son, the daughter, the mother, the uncle, the cousin, grandpa... Whoever!)
3- Scotland had William Wallace and Rob Roy. Irland had... Sinn Fein?

And now for three reasons that will demonstrate why the RedCoats have no intention of touching "eirish" nations even with a long, long... long! stick.

1- Boston Celtics. I mean, c'mon! There's no leprechauns in the team! Is it just me or is this pure discrimination towards the vertically-challenged?
2- St. Pat's day speaks for itself. And so do those hords of flashed albino boobs.
3- Uhm... well...

Okay, I've run out of clichés to exploit this absurd topic-swing boost.
