Hi there everybody. We had our broadcasting license revoked because of complaints to the Human Rights Commission of Canada by Ed from Etobicoke, so G7 radio is again kaput.
On a far more sombre note, Tanya Reinhart, author of books such as The Roadmap to Nowhere died yesterday in New York State. She was Professor Emeritus, Linguistics and Comparative Literature at Tel Aviv University in Israel.

just out of curiousity, what were the complaints? cuz really, it’s a radio show (if that!!) but far more entertaining that regular radio. i mean other radio shows play shit like 50 cent or Eminem…are those not dickheads who promote violence? Does that not warrant a human rights complaint? and who is this Ed guy…cuz i’d like to follow in the footsteps of Jon and e-mail the fuck out of his inbox.

as a linguist, i must say that the loss of tanya reinhart is doubly distressing. insightful analysis on two levels, gone. she will be sorely missed in two communities of thoughtful persons.
also, to a much lesser extent, too bad about the “radio” show, but the redux was kind of a let down in comparison to the full length thingy (the scripted bits are not a strength of the g7 comic repertoire). it was perhaps not the best expenditure of time and energy, but even angry anarchists need to laugh sometimes.

I cant believe Tanya Reinhart died! This is such a huge shock. Her books are fantastic, I encourage anyone who hasnt already to pick them up.
I propose “Seasons” of G7 radio. The full length episodes were season 1, the redux was season 2… now for the difficult 3rd season. Perhaps you could just reduce the lenght to 1 sentence per week. that would do me fine. Good luck guys!
