I don't know why this surprises me, but this is definitely one of those things you read with your hands tied behind your back, because otherwise you'd punch a hole right through your fucking screen.
Bravo: Brazil.
I-hope-you-get-to-experience-a-slow-painful-death-from-AIDS: every member of the Bush administration.

Look at this living asswipe...
YESTERDAY WAS MAYDAY.
For thousands of workers across the planet, May 1st marks a remembrance of class struggle and resistance. Accordingly, May 1st found G7 officially filing a grievance with Paul Burrows, acting committee member of the Emma Goldman Automous Zone collective (where G7 HQ is located), after Derek and Chris did $2000 of renovations on the building for free and were paid back with 2 serious cases of asbestos poisoning. Burrows was quoted as suggesting G7 look on the bright side and consider the fact that they are now both flame-retardant. In response, a visibly angry Derek Hogue protested that it is 2005 and he prefers the term "mentally-challenged gay man".
MAYWORKS is a festival held throughout the month of May to honour and promote the many positive contributions of unions and working people in general. Inspired by events surrounding the anniversary of the 1919 Winnipeg General Strike, MAYWORKS focuses on the art produced both by artists, with their depiction of the working class life and by workers with their own interpretation of their lives and struggles. Here is a link the Winnipeg Mayworks Festival. Many other cities have their own Mayworks related events. Check around yours.
I FEEL LIKE I'M TAKING CRAZY PILLS
Ever feel like you've taken crazy pills? Well, if you can get past the tired old references to "heroes" and "revolutions", you may want to take a few minutes to play the old "let's apply the same rules to other countries!" game that rich Western governments never like to play and check out the website of the National Committee to Free the Cuban Five.
These guys must be sitting in their cells just going like, "what the FUCK???".
What was it the Bush Administration said about countries that harbor terrorists again? I don't know, is it just me or should we be dropping daisy-cutters on Miami?
HIRETSUKAN FINISHES NEW RECORD!
Legendary NY producer Don Fury emailed today to let us know that Brooklyn's Hiretsukan have finished work on their new record, entitled "End States"! He says it is a "slamming, raging, ripping record" that "trumps everything"! He also says we can hear it when we pay him the balance of what we owe him.
uh-oh.
SUBMISSION HOLD ON TOUR.
Derek just asked me if this newsletter had anything funny in it yet. Yeah. Y'know what i think would be really funny? I think it'd be funny if you shut your fucking face and sat down at your own retentively-clean desk and talked on the phone all day some more with all the goofs who call here and always ask to talk to you and never ask to talk to me like as if there's no possible way in the history of earth i could ever have the answers to their unbelievably important questions. i think that would be soooooo funny.
Check out Submission Hold's Western Canadian dates here.
Addendum: 05.22.05 - Indefinite Hiatus, BC. (Chris and Derek begin living in alley behind A-zone in a lean-to made of Submission Hold records).
G7 + MYSPACE.COM
G7 is proud to announce that we don't have a MySpace.com page. We hope you are as excited about this news as we are.
GREG MACPHERSON IS THE B'Y THAT BUILDS THE BOAT...
...and if i'm not mistaken, he claims he's also the one that sails them. That's right Maritimers! Greg Macpherson is returning to his old stomping grounds for some solo shows. Jord and Mike were cut from the Eastern dates when they refused to play "Captain Highliner" with him. Check it.
G7 DVD
Ok, since our own fucking ungrateful bands won't help us (Malefaction and Norman Nawrocki notably excluded), we need *you*, the people who have gone to shows with your dads' video cameras over the years and filmed all these dirtbags in their various stages of idiocy, to dig through those milk-crates full of crap you never look at anymore and send in your footage. You will be handsomely* rewarded** if we use what you send. All submissions to: G7 Welcoming Committee Records/ P.O. Box 27006/ 360 Main Street Concourse/ Winnipeg, MB/ R3C 4T3, Canada

PROPAGANDHI RECORD "PRETTY MUCH DONE"
Todd from Propagandhi reports that the new Propagandhi record is "pretty much done i guess. Go take a shit-switch...sow."
um...ok?
Kowalski went on to say that Blair "Blaring Blairhole" Calibaba (a chronic farter), who is supposed to mix the otherwise completed record, has going missing and was last reported seen on tour with No Means No in the US. If anyone finds him, please return him to lower rungs of the talent ladder so we can finally get this bag of ripping speed-bones out.
Incidentally, Propagandhi have signed to a new label started by the Bush Administration and weapons manufacturer Lockheed-Martin, citing the need to "get their message out to a larger audience".
You can view the video (the first they've ever made!) for the first single - entitled "rock against bush" - from their forthcoming album here.
Ok, i'm bored. that's all.
